Did you know that more than 1 in 37 children under the age of 5 in the U.S. is affected by Pediatric Feeding Disorder (PFD)? It’s a startling statistic and one I only recently became aware of. For these children – eating, drinking and swallowing is painful and frightening. It affects their physical and psycho-social development and parents end up feeling alone and lost because there isn’t a functional system of care for PFD on a local, national, or international level. I had a lovely and impactful evening emceeing the 2nd annual Feeding Matters Feed the Cause event where we raised awareness about PFD – and funds that will go toward the research, education, advocacy and support programs that Feeding Matters provides to families affected by PFD.
