NEW YEAR GOALS

I’m not one for making resolutions (too much pressure).
I do like setting goals.
I also like choosing a word to help set my intention for the new year.
If transformation became my word for last year, then BOUNDARIES is my word for 2021.
I experienced so much personal growth last year, that this year I’m all about preserving it.
For me, that means making myself accountable for establishing healthy boundaries that don’t compromise the positive energy that is so necessary to my well-being.
I’ve said yes more often through the years than I’ve said no, sometimes at the expense of my own joy.
I’ve let FOMO get the best of me way too many times and ended up either very exhausted or too stressed out.
So, I’m making BOUNDARIES my new mantra.
Last year forced me to slow down.
This year I’m making it a choice.
Because, in the words of the fabulous Brene Brown, “Daring to set boundaries is about having the courage to love ourselves, even when we risk disappointing others. We can’t base our own worthiness on others’ approval… Only when we believe, deep down, that we are enough can we say “Enough!”
What’s your word for 2021?
