Thank you to the EcoMadres and Moms Clean Air Force teams for inviting me to moderate an important discussion on the challenges posed by extreme weather on children’s health as well as some actionable solutions.
Studies have shown that Latino communities are disproportionately affected by extreme heat, and with Arizona continuing to break heat records, this conversation is more important than ever to our community.
Rising heat during the school year can not only impact our children’s learning but their mental well-being.
That’s just one of the topics discussed among this esteemed panel of experts: Dr. Eugene Livar from Arizona Department of Health Services, Noemi Emeric-Ford, EPA Region 9, and Yadira Sanchez from PoderLatinx.
