College access and affordability is personal and important to me.
There was a time, during my freshman year at USC, when I thought I’d have to drop out. I had multiple scholarships, grants and loans that covered most of my tuition, but there was still the family contribution that my mom and I had a difficult time coming up with.
We always found a way, But it wasn’t easy.
It’s one of the reasons why I have a soft spot for programs like the WISE Scholarship Program, that believes in opportunity through education and mentorship.
I emceed their Influencers Dinner last week, which included a room full of tremendous leaders and influencers who support and advocate for education and helping young people reach their full potential.
We also heard from some of the WISE scholars who reminded us that there is power in education and the support that comes from those who use their platforms to make it possible.
