CATHERINE ANAYA IS A JOURNALIST, TV HOST AND EMCEE
Catherine currently hosts Horizonte, an Arizona PBS series examining Arizona issues through a Hispanic lens and covering issues of particular interest to Latinos.
She is also host of Conversations with Catherine, a YouTube series of conversations with everyday people, experts and leaders who are sparking change and making a difference through education, awareness, positivity and empowerment.

The proud wife, mom, bonus-mom and dog mom is also a three-time Emmy award-winning former television news anchor of more than 25 years, inducted into The Rocky Mountain Southwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences nationally recognized Silver Circle for more than 25 years of broadcast excellence and contribution to the community.


Catherine anchored and reported 12 of those years at CBS 5 News in Phoenix. Prior to that she was an anchor/reporter in Los Angeles, Indiana and Texas. Catherine has won numerous awards including ‘Anchor of the Year’ by the Arizona Associated Press Broadcasters Association. Her career highlights include interviewing President Obama at the White House and co-anchoring a post-presidential debate with the legendary Walter Cronkite.
Catherine is also an award-winning magazine columnist. She is an Arizona Press Club winner for Commentary/Analysis for her past column in Latino Perspectives Magazine. She is a Parenting Publications of America Silver Award winner for her past column in Los Angeles Family Magazine.
Catherine has also been lauded by magazines such as Phoenix Magazine (Best TV Newcomer) and Arizona Foothills Magazine where she’s been a multi-year winner of the Best of Our Valley categories for News Anchor of the Year and Favorite Female TV Personality.
Catherine is the 2021 recipient of the Athena Valley of the Sun HAIL (Honoring Athena Inspired Leaders) Award for LIVE AUTHENTICALLY, recognizing groundbreaking women in the community who lead with principles that create awareness and embody the strength of women leaders.
She is a former member of the Make-A-Wish Arizona Board of Directors and is a member of The KNOW Women, a community of high-achieving female leaders, creators, and entrepreneurs. Catherine is also featured in the 2019 and 2021 KNOW Phoenix Book highlighting 100+ women you should KNOW and do business with, as well the 2019 – 2020 Best of KNOW Book featuring high – performing women from across the country. She was also named an Arizona Latina Trailblazer in 2014. Catherine is a former longtime member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, the Arizona Latino News Media Association Board of Directors and is a graduate of the Valley’s Hispanic Leadership Institute (HLI), Class of 2004.
Catherine is a USC alumna. She is also the founder of the women’s charitable group Sisterhood of Super Women and helped her children create The Lats Legacy Foundation and scholarship in memory of their father. She is a fitness enthusiast and a three-time Boston Marathon finisher (2007, 2011, 2012).
