55 and feeling so alive!

My mom says she can’t believe she has a 55-year-old daughter.
How do you think I feel mom?!
But seriously, if 55 is old, why do I feel so young?
Well, for starters, I find happiness in the simplest of things:
I exercise daily, which energizes me physically and mentally. I always leave the yoga studio or the gym feeling better than I walked in.

I read. A lot! Books stimulate my brain and my creativity. So much so, that I’ve started writing my own memoir, which I hope to finish in the next year and gift to my children.

I ride my bike at least once a week to a coffee shop, where I sit alone with my computer or my book. I listen to a podcast going there and I listen to music coming back. I get so much joy from those rides that I’ve called my husband in the middle of one just to tell him how my bike is quite possibly the best Christmas gift he’s ever given me.

I talk and sing to my dog incessantly. I’m not entirely sure it brightens his day, but it certainly does mine.

I spend as much time as I can with my husband and my children, because quite frankly, I don’t have time to waste.
If I’m lucky, I’ll squeeze at least 25 or 30 more years out of this life, and if I’m honest, I’m fully aware of just how quickly those years will fly.
With 55 years of experience on this earth, I can safely say that I have never felt more loved, more alive, and more youthful than I do today.
Thank you to all the beautiful people in my life who surround me with positivity, encouragement, and faith. You keep me centered.
Today I’m going to have lunch with my son, tomorrow I’m going to celebrate with my daughter, and tonight I’m going to fall asleep next to the love of my life.
I truly am the luckiest girl in the world!
